It's a regular feature in the insurance industry to hear people bemoan the fact that innovation is not what it could be.
Some clearly believe that disruption will come from outside the sector and yet, somehow, their role will be safe. For others, clearly inertia has set in.
That's why it's timely to be reminded that the insurance industry was born from innovation. Let's hope it's sufficiently embedded in insurers' DNA, for them to survive the upheaval.
